Spring 2012 Production
Circle 67 proudly presents a pair of one-act plays, by local authors, about what can happen to people trapped by circumstance - the first has an all-male cast & the second all-female…
The Dice
by Forbes Bramble
Three political prisoners are confined together in a prison cell. They manage their conflicting interests by devising a strategy that involves a pair of dice. However this simple idea evolves into something more primeval with unforeseen circumstances.
Forbes Bramble lives in Linstead. An architect by profession he is also an established novelist and playwright. The Dice, one of his earliest works, first performed to acclaim at the Edinburgh Festival in 1959 has a timeless relevance. Stone Picking, his latest play, was recently performed both at The Cut and Latitude by Mouth to Mouth.
The Books
by Thea Smiley
Late one night in a university library two cleaners discover a body… As Doreen and Bert’s nightshift grows increasingly bizarre, their compassion, courage, and knowledge are put to the test, and it is up to them to prevent a tragedy.
